A Family tour to Jamuna Resort

My family and I recently visited Bongobondhu Cantonment and the Jamuna Resort in Tangail, Bangladesh. The trip provided a much-needed respite from the hustle and bustle of city life, as well as an opportunity to bond with my loved ones in a beautiful and tranquil setting.

We began our journey early in the morning in Uttara, Dhaka, and it took us approximately 2.5 hours to arrive at Bongobondhu Cantonment. We took our time exploring the area, taking in the sights and sounds of nature and breathing in the fresh air.

Then we went to the Jamuna Resort, which is on the banks of the Jamuna River. The resort is well-known for its luxurious accommodations, delectable cuisine, and a variety of recreational activities. We checked into our spacious and well-appointed rooms before venturing out to explore the resort’s facilities.

The resort offers a variety of activities for guests to enjoy, such as swimming in the pool, tennis, and even horseback riding. A highlight of our trip was a boat ride on the Jamuna River with my family. The river is surrounded by beautiful countryside views, and we enjoyed the cool breeze and peaceful atmosphere.

We sat down for a delicious dinner at the resort’s restaurant after a day of activities. We ate a variety of traditional Bengali dishes, which were delicious. We finished the day by sitting by the river and stargazing, admiring the night sky and the tranquil surroundings.

My plan for the day was, to begin with, a visit to the Bongobondhu Cantonment. We went to the officers’ mess after visiting the cantonment, which is located in the nearby area of Sirajganj, about 1 km from the Jamuna River. The resort is a popular tourist and local destination, offering a variety of amenities such as swimming pools, gardens, and a restaurant.

I took a leisurely stroll along the nearby riverside after spending some time at the officers’ mess. This was an excellent opportunity to appreciate the natural beauty of the area and possibly spot some local wildlife.

The day included elements of culture, relaxation, and nature. I knew a visit to the Cantonment Officers' Mess would be a great way to learn about Bangladesh’s history and heritage, while the Jamuna Resort and Riverside Walk would allow me to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. The Jamuna resort’s proximity to the cantonment made it very easy for me to move from one location to another.

My walk along the river with my family members was truly memorable. We took in the breathtaking natural beauty that surrounded us as we walked along the picturesque banks of the Jamuna River. The sun shone brightly, and the weather was ideal for a stroll, with a gentle breeze blowing through the trees.

We talked and laughed as we walked, enjoying the company of our loved ones. We also stopped to admire the local wildlife, such as the various species of birds flying overhead and the fish swimming in the river.

My family and I also took advantage of the opportunity to take photos along the way, capturing the beautiful scenery as well as the memories we were creating together. We also appreciated the peace and quiet of the setting, with only the sound of the river and the occasional bird song as background noise.

It was an amazing experience to spend time with my family in such a peaceful and natural setting. The river walk was the ideal way for me to unwind and bond with my loved ones while also admiring the natural beauty of the area. Following our visit to the Jamuna Resort, we proceeded to the Jinnah Road EGB and the Jamuna Bridge. The bridge, which spans the Jamuna River, is one of the most important infrastructure projects in Bangladesh, connecting Dhaka to the country’s northern regions. The bridge serves as a vital link in the region’s transportation, trade, and commerce.

We took a short drive from the resort to our destination, enjoying the picturesque scenery of the surrounding area. We arrived at Jinnah Road EGB in about 3 to 5 minutes.

We were struck by the bustling atmosphere of Jinnah Road when we arrived. The road is a major thoroughfare in the city, and it is constantly congested with cars, rickshaws, and pedestrians. This is a popular tourist attraction as well as a significant historical site. After admiring the complex’s architecture, we proceeded to the Jamuna Bridge.

The bridge provided a lovely view of the surrounding area and the river. Before returning to the resort, we stopped to take pictures and admire the view from the bridge. The visit to Jinnah Road EGB and the Jamuna Bridge was a highlight of our trip, allowing us to appreciate the region’s history, culture, and natural beauty.

My family’s 1-hour short Jamuna River boat tour was an unforgettable experience. We boarded a traditional wooden boat near the resort and set out on the calm waters of the Jamuna River.

We were surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of the area as we sailed down the river. We saw lush green trees, and the background sound of birds singing created an idyllic atmosphere. The boatman pointed out various bird and fish species in the river, and we also saw some local fishermen casting nets and pulling in their catch.

The boatman also shared some interesting information about the region’s history and culture, which helped us understand and appreciate the area.

We enjoyed the cool breeze and the sound of the water lapping against the boat as we moved further down the river. The boat ride under the Jamuna Bridge was one of the highlights of the tour. It was an incredible experience to see the bridge from a different angle and to feel the magnitude of the structure. My family members and I took a lot of pictures together to remember the tour. We also had some refreshments and talked on the boat, which made the trip even more enjoyable.

Our children had a great time playing on the battalion playground. The Jamuna Resort’s playground is a large and well-maintained area filled with a variety of activities and attractions for children.

Our kids were eager to explore and try out the various pieces of equipment as soon as we arrived. They ran around, swinging, sliding, and swinging from the monkey bars. They also enjoyed riding the merry-go-round, playing on the seesaws, and climbing on the jungle gym.

The playground also included several sports facilities, such as soccer fields, basketball courts, and volleyball courts, making it ideal for our children and us to play games and sports together. We had a great time playing and bonding as a family while enjoying the outdoors.

Aside from these amenities, the resort also has a fitness center and a lounge area. We didn’t get to use all of them, but they were there if we needed them.

We returned to the Cantonment Officers’ Mess and participated in a variety of activities with my family members. The mess had a variety of amenities that kept us entertained all evening.

On the tennis court, we began by playing a game of tennis. It was a great way for the family to get some exercise while also spending time together. The court was well-kept and provided a great playing surface.

After that, we went to the indoor playground. It was a lot of fun and a welcome change from the more physical activities we’d been doing. Swings, slides, monkey bars, and other equipment were available for use by both children and adults on the indoor playground.

After our games, we took a dip in the pool to cool off. The pool was clean and well-kept, and it provided a welcome respite from the heat of the day. The pool also had a separate section for children, making it ideal for our children to enjoy and play.

Finally, we had a barbecue dinner on the roof, which was a lot of fun with my family members. The dinner was delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect, with a great view of the surrounding area from the rooftop. We all had a good time and enjoyed each other’s company.

We had a great time after returning to the Cantonment Officers’ Mess. The mess provided a variety of facilities that kept us entertained throughout the evening and provided an excellent opportunity for us to spend time together as a family. Tennis, Jim, swimming, and the barbeque dinner were all highlights of our stay and contributed to our overall enjoyment of the trip.

A quick stop at Jamuna Resort enhanced our tour by providing a comfortable and relaxing environment to rest and rejuvenate after our activities. The swimming pool, restaurant, garden, and other amenities were all excellent, contributing to a pleasurable and memorable stay.
